Cartographers
The Society was founded in 1964 at the University of Glasgow and was originally named the Society of University Cartographers. In 1989 the Society adopted a new title and constitution opening up membership to all in the cartographic community.Membership is widely drawn from the education sector, statutory institutions, local authorities, public utilities and the commercial and publishing industry. The majority of the membership is UK based, with an increasing world-wide membership. The Society's aims also remain constant, that is to support the practising cartographer and encourage and maintain a high standard of cartographic illustration by providing information and opportunities to meet and exchange views and techniques with fellow practising cartographers |

The Association for Geographic Information
The objective of the AGI is to maximise the use of GI for the benefit of the citizen, good governance and commerce. The AGI pursues these aims through a wide range of activities including lobbying, an active web site, a number of publications, specialist meetings and seminars throughout the country. These are all supported by our annual conference and trade exhibition. There are also a number of special interest groups that provide services of specific relevant to users in various sectors as well as branches of the organisation in Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland. |
Hakluyt Society
The Society is a registered charity inspired by and named after Richard Hakluyt (1552-1616), the famous collector and editor of narratives of voyages and travels and other documents relating to English interests overseas. Membership of the Society is strongly recommended to everyone interested in the history of exploration and travel, geographical discovery and world wide cultural encounter. For an annual subscription of only £35 ($70), a member receives all volumes issued by the Society (other than those of the Extra Series) during the period of membership. Currently, two or three volumes are published each year. |

Society of Finland
Geographical Society of Finland is a community of geographers and those interested in geography which traces its origins back to 1888. It was then that the original Geographical Society of Finland and Finnish Geographical Association were founded, to be united into a single organisation in 1921. The Society´s official languages are Finnish and Swedish, and its purpose is to promote research in geography and related sciences at home and abroad. |
