* Best Website Portal
A directory listing of hand-picked websites covering geography, the sciences and nature.

* Defence Dynamics
Defence Dynamics supports teachers in the delivery of English, Maths, Science, Geography and PSHE/PSD lessons to 14-16yr olds. The website aims to provide teachers with all the necessary materials to deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons.

* Geographical
This is the web site to accompany the well respected magazine, Geographical. The site is new and still developing, but shows considerable promise. The content is suitable for a wide range of viewers, from curious non-geographers to hardened students in search of current news and informative articles.

* Geography World
An excellent resource with links, quizzes and very useful information. Different topics are all presented in a table. Select the topic and a page full of links will be provided. NB. Not all links have a resource description so you will have to judge the contents by the title of the links.

* Geology.com
A North American site containing useful geological maps, articles, a very good rock photograph section, along with news and articles related to geology etc. Well worth visiting.

* Planet Pals
An interesting site aimed at younger students. The pages make use of bright colours and cartoon characters, but also provide useful information about Earth, our weather and many issues affecting our own planet. There are added interests for the younger visitors including a Clubhouse, free fun, puzzles and the chance to learn about 'recycle crafts'.

* Shambles Geography
Part of the Shambles network of educational sites, this page brings together a good collection of links to useful resources. A good starting point if you are searching for UK curriculum topics and information.

* The Mining Company
Some links and a large collection of interesting short articles on geographical issues. Like all Mining Company sites, there is a lot of advertising on the pages, but the geographical content is fairly useful. The articles are written by the site author, a geographer, and the links to other sites are organised by topic. There are also book reviews.
